Who can use it
DinnerWinner is for people aged 13 and older. Household admins should be adults.
Your account
You sign in with email and password, Google, or Apple. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details private and for what happens under your account. Please give accurate information and do not use someone else's account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, or by following the steps on the account deletion page.
Households
A household is a shared space for recipes and dinner polls. The person who creates it is its admin. Admins can rename the household, invite people, remove members and delete the household, and deleting it removes its recipes, polls and membership for everyone in it. Anyone with an invite code can join, so share codes only with people you want in your household. Members of a household can see its shared recipes, votes and results.
Your content
You keep ownership of the recipes, photos and other content you add. You give DinnerWinner permission to store it and to show it to the members of your household so that the app can work. Only add content you have the right to use, and do not add anything unlawful, harmful or abusive. When you import a recipe from a website, check that you are allowed to keep it. We may remove content or accounts that break these terms.
Photos from other sources
Stock photos in the app come from Unsplash and Pexels. They are shown with credit to the photographer and are used under the licences of those services.
Free features and paid themes
DinnerWinner is free to use and has no ads. Some themes (for example Pixel Pantry and Hangry Scribe) are optional one-time purchases that unlock a look for your account. Purchases are taken by Google Play or the App Store and are processed with RevenueCat, which records them so they can be restored. A purchased theme belongs to your account, not to one phone: use Restore purchases from Help & about to get it back after reinstalling or on a new device. Prices are shown in the store in your local currency before you pay.
Gifts
You can buy a paid theme as a gift for another member of your household. You choose the recipient before you pay, and the theme is added to their account. A gift is a separate purchase from buying the theme for yourself. If the store refunds or cancels a gift purchase, the theme is removed from the person who received it.
Tips
Tips are optional thank-yous to the developer, taken through the same store payment as a purchase. They do not unlock anything in the app, and they are not donations to a charity.
Refunds
The store that took your payment (Google Play or the App Store) decides refunds under its own policies, so please ask the store first. DinnerWinner does not take payment itself and cannot issue refunds. If you need help, email support@dinnerwinner.app. When a store refunds or cancels a theme purchase or a gift, the theme is taken back from the account it was unlocked for, and a refunded tip is no longer counted. Nothing here limits any refund or cancellation rights you have under Ontario or other applicable consumer protection law.
Keeping the app running
We work to keep DinnerWinner available, but it is provided as is. It may be down, change or lose features, and data can fail to save or sync. Keep a copy of recipes you cannot afford to lose. We may update these terms; when we do, the date at the top changes, and if you keep using the app after that you accept the new terms.
Limits of our responsibility
DinnerWinner helps a household decide what to cook. Recipes, cooking times and ingredient information may be wrong, so use your own judgment, especially about food safety and allergies. To the extent the law allows, mally.dev is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that cannot be waived.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute that cannot be settled informally will be decided by the courts of Ontario, unless a consumer protection law that applies to you gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
